Eight people were killed and seven others injured on Saturday evening when a microbus overturned on the al-Kureimat Desert Road at Atfih district, south of Giza.
Security sources said that the emergency police operations room received a report on an accident on a curve in the road, where the driver lost control on the vehicle, causing it to overturn and crash into the roadside barrier.
Ambulances rushed to the scene of the accident, and the bodies of the deceased and the injured were transported to Atfih Central Hospital.
Security forces began their investigations into the accident.
The Public Prosecution inspected the scene and requested a technical report on the condition of the vehicle and the driver’s speed, as well as the medical status of the injured.
