November 7, 2025 Lincoln, NE SCY (25 Yards) Full Meet Results Team Scores Nebraska 162 — 138 KansasThe Nebraska Cornhuskers came out on top of the Kansas Jayhawks on Friday, scoring 162 points to the Jayhawks’ 138 to earn a win in their rivalry meet. The Cornhuskers improved their all-time record against Kansas to 16-28.
Nebraska started the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay. Virginia Consiglio, Amelia Riggott, Beatrix Tanko, and Natalie Dunaway swam 1:39.74 to touch a tenth ahead of the Kansas ‘A’ relay’s time of 1:39.87.
They also won the final event of the meet, the 400 freestyle relay, with the team of Beatrix Tanko (49.21), Giulia Marchi (49.86), Riley Miklos (51.26), Gena Jorgenson (50.59) swimming 3:20.92 to touch three seconds ahead of the Kansas ‘A’ relay’s time of 3:24.12.
Gena Jorgenson won three events for the Cornhuskers, starting with the 1650 freestyle, where she swam 16:10.04 to win by more than 40 seconds over Kansas’s Ivy Solt. Jorgenson’s best time in the event stands at 15:49.99 from the NCAA Championships, but her swim yesterday was more than 40 seconds faster than her first 1650 free last season of 16:48.14.
She also won 200 back in 1:57.23, a new personal best time, dropping from the 1:57.38 mark she set at last season’s Hawkeye Invitational. Bradie Ward from Kansas finished 2nd in 1:59.41.
Her final event win came in the 400 IM, where she touched in 4:16.01 to beat teammate Marissa Laurin by just over five seconds. Her best time stands at 4:11.51 from the 2024 NCAA Championships.
Giulia Marchi also won two events for the Nebraska team, starting with the 200 freestyle, where her 1:48.14 was about a second ahead of teammate Riley Miklos‘ 1:49.18. This was a new season best time for her, and was only about half-a-second slower than her lifetime best of 1:47.69 from last February.
Marchi’s 100 free time of 50.71 was her 2nd fastest swim ever with her lifetime best standing at 50.67 from Nebraska’s meet with Rutgers in February of 2024. She came in just over three tenths ahead of Kansas’s Sarah Blake who swam 51.09 for 2nd.
The final two event winner for the Cornhuskers was Beatrix Tanko. She started with a win in the 50 freestyle at 22.73, a new season best time. Her lifetime best stands at 22.47 from the Big Ten Championships last season.
Tanko’s 2nd win was the 100 fly, where she swam a new personal best time of 52.72 to knock five hundredths off the 52.77 she set at the 2025 Big Ten Championships.
Aurora Zanin was the other individual swimming event winner for Nebraska with her 1:58.00 in the 200 fly making her the only athlete under 2:00 in the event. This was a new personal best time for her, dropping from the 1:59.52 she swam in March.
The Kansas team won five individual events, starting with senior Lydia Lafferty‘s 100 back swim of 53.19. This was a new personal best time, dropping from the 53.75 she swam at the Big 12 Championships last season.
Lafferty also rebroke her own team record in the women’s 100 fly, finishing 2nd in 53.02 to drop two tenths from her previous best 53.24.
Ryan Johnston swept the breaststroke events, winning the 100 breast in 1:01.45 and the 200 breast in 2:15.46, both swims were new season best times.
Gabi Dyer was the final individual swimming event winner for the Jayhawks with her 4:49.94 in the 500 freestyle to touch three seconds ahead of Ivy Solt.
Kansas and Nebraska split the diving events with Kansas’s Shiyun Lai winning the 1-Meter in 359.78 and Nebraska’s Abigail Baxter winning the 3-Meter in 319.35
