Modern Family star Ariel Winter revealed on Nov. 7 that she had to say goodbye to her dog Casper, sharing an emotional message that included some memories with him as she mourned the deep loss.
Winter began her tribute to Casper, writing, "The last two weeks have been the most heartbreaking weeks of my life…i lost my first baby and best friend Casper ?."
"He was the most special, funny, empathetic, loving, independent, sassy, clumsy and, of course, handsome good boi. i’ll forever be grateful for the 11.5 years i had with him," she continued, before sharing some of the things Casper loved, such as kids and "occasional mischief," concluding, "but above all else he loved us more than anything."
Opening up about how she's dealing with his death, Winter said, "It still feels so unreal that he’s gone."
She went on, writing, "I hope the rainbow bridge is a beautiful place filled with everything he loves and NO thunderstorms...i hope with everything in me that i can see him again one day and let him know one last time just how much he meant to me and how he’ll always have a piece of my heart."
