ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office is asking the public for help identifying a man who was hit by a car and killed while riding his bicycle.
The crash happened on Sunday, Oct. 19, around 7 p.m. in the city’s Marketview Heights neighborhood. The man was riding on Scio Street near Woodward Street when a car traveling in the other direction hit him. The driver wasn’t ticketed and Rochester Police say there were no signs of impairment.
The medical examiner describes the victim as a white male, possibly Hispanic, and likely in his 30s or 40s. He is about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 144 pounds. He was wearing several rubber bracelets, rings, two necklaces, and two metal bracelets. The man also has a tattoo on his right lower arm that appears to be a name.
Anyone with information that can help to identify the victim is asked to call the Medical Examiner’s Office at (585) 753-5905 and select Option 6. The medical examiner is asking callers to be prepared to provide specific information about the tattoo or the jewelry. People shouldn’t go directly to the Medical Examiner’s Office, since access to the building is restricted and viewings can’t be accommodated.
