CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- All lanes of Interstate 77 are blocked in both directions from what appear to be downed power lines.
The incident happened just before 7 a.m. on I-77 near the exits for Billy Graham Parkway and East Woodlawn Road, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT).
All northbound and southbound lanes are closed. An NCDOT camera shows what appears to be power lines lying across the interstate.
Heavy traffic delays are present. Drivers are asked to avoid that area. NCDOT currently estimates the interstate to reopen around 10 a.m.
