The 34-year-old India National Cricket Team spinner Varun Chakravarthy dismissed his bunny Glenn Maxwell in the fourth T20I of the five-match series against the Australia National Cricket Team.
Varun Chakravarthy humiliated Glenn Maxwell on his comeback game for Australia in T20I cricket and dismissed him for the sixth time in his career at the Gold Coast Stadium (Carrara) in Gold Coast.
Maxwell fractured his wrist after being hit by a powerful shot from Mitchell Owen while bowling in the nets in the lead-up to the T20I series against New Zealand in Mount Maunganui.
The all-rounder was immediately released from the squad, and he consulted a specialist before going under the knife to ensure that he would receive a quick recovery.
Maxwell last played for Australia in the T20I match against South Africa on August 16 and made a comeback on November 6 in the fourth game against India. Australia would have been expecting some fireworks from the comeback man, but he failed miserably.
While chasing the target, Glenn Maxwell scored just 2 runs before being dismissed by Varun Chakravarthy. On the sixth ball of the 15th over, the spinner bowled a googly on the length outside off-stump, and Maxwell made room to slap it. However, he missed the ball completely and saw his stumps getting rattled.
Varun Chakravarthy has made Glenn Maxwell his bunny in T20 cricket and has dismissed him 6 times in 9 innings while conceding just 50 runs in 34 balls.

— Star Sports (@StarSportsIndia) November 6, 2025This is what you play bilaterals for, you challenge yourself - Suryakumar Yadav
Speaking earlier at the toss, Australia skipper Mitchell Marsh said that they were pumped up to face India.
"We are going to bowl first. We don't play a lot here. It is great to be here, will try to get as much information about the surface as we can. It is great, a five-match series going down to the last two games, both teams will be pumped. We have four changes - Zampa, Maxwell, Philippe, and Dwarshuis come in for the four other guys.
Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav said that the bilateral series gives the teams an opportunity to challenge themselves. He added that the conditions in the venue for the fourth game were pretty similar to Indian conditions. He said:
"This is what you play bilaterals for, you challenge yourself and it is a beautiful stadium, everything to play for. The preparation has been good. We had a day off, had a good practice session yesterday, looks like a subcontinent wicket, later on it might get slower so we are happy to bat first. We were looking to bat first. Looks similar to Indian conditions, put runs on the board and we want to take up that challenge. We are going with the same team."
