The all-rounder was sent in to increase the scoring rate as well as capitalize when the spinner Adam Zampa came into the attack. He took the field after Abhishek Sharma was dismissed by Adam Zampa.
After having hit a huge six off Adam Zampa in just the previous over of the innings, Dube was left baffled and lost his leg stump in front of Nathan Ellis. Ellis ran in with a slower off-cutter around the bodyline, and Dube looked to clip it away but missed it completely, and it went to hit the top of his leg stump.
