ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Educators, industry professionals, and government leaders gathered at Rush-Henrietta Senior High Wednesday for the “Future Ready” regional gathering.
The event aimed to prepare local students for future job markets. One of the main topics was leveraging artificial intelligence as a specialization for students to set themselves apart as they enter the workforce.
“Our students are going to need to be problem finders,” said Barbara Mullen, superintendent of Rush-Henrietta. “AI is about machine learning, it’s about what you put into it. But at the end of the day, it’s always going to take smart, really committed, dedicated humans that are going to use that technology to change the world around them.”
Organizers said they want to build a pipeline for the area’s more than 100,000 students to find jobs and higher education opportunities right out of high school.
