DENVER (KDVR) — The suspect in the June attack on Israeli hostage supporters in Boulder has pleaded not guilty to state charges related to the attack.
Mohamed Sabry Soliman, an Egyptian national who was living with his family in El Paso County illegally after overstaying a visa, appeared in Boulder County court on Wednesday, where he faces more than 100 charges related to the attack.
Soliman allegedly threw Molotov cocktails at a group from Run for Their Lives who were demonstrating for the release of Israeli hostages who were being held by Hamas in Gaza. Federal officials allege he shouted “free Palestine” as he threw one cocktail at the group.
Among the charges are first-degree murder after one of the victims, 82-year-old Karen Diamond, died nearly a month after the attack.
The district attorney’s office said there were 29 victims, with 13 of them suffering “physical injury during the attack,” as well as a dog that was injured.

2 counts of first-degree murder, 52 counts of attempted first-degree murder, 8 counts of first-degree assault, 18 counts of attempted first-degree assault, 2 counts of third-degree assault, 2 counts of using an incendiary device, 16 counts of attempted use of an incendiary device and 1 count of animal cruelty.Soliman is also charged with federal hate crime charges and pleaded not guilty to those charges in June.
According to the federal indictment, Soliman said he wanted to take revenge on people who supported Israel and had found the group after searching online for a "Zionist event."
Soliman allegedly stated that he hoped he had “burned[sic] them all. I killed[sic] them all. This was my dream.”
