ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Some Rochester students got new attire on Tuesday to prepare for the winter. The Rochester City School District teamed up with local partners to host the Operation Warm Winter Coat Giveaway.
It provides more than 800 free new coats to students in grades pre-K through 6. Families registered in advance to take part in the giveaway.
“When I was a child, I was always excited to get a new… that’s one less thing they won’t have to go out and buy,” said Kelli Briggs with the Rochester City School District.
RCSD’s Office of Parent Engagement and Transportation Department partnered with Monroe Transportation and its sister brand, Durham School Services, for Operation Warm.
