CHURCHVILLE, N.Y. — Students at Churchville-Chili Middle School had a day filled with excitement Tuesday, as they participated in an “NFL Play 60 Charged Up” kickoff event.
The initiative aimed to encourage kids to stay active for at least 60 minutes a day.
Buffalo Bills players, along with team mascot Billy the Buffalo, joined the students for a pep rally. They then headed to the gym for flag football skills and drills.
“To some of these kids, we’re superheroes,” Dion Dawkins, one of the players present, said. “He gets to tackle, I get to protect him, keep the kids smiling, on the right track, why not?”
The students also enjoyed getting autographs from the players, adding to the day’s memorable experiences.
