AUSTIN (KXAN) -- It's Election Day in Texas. Texans will head to the polls on Tuesday to vote on an assortment of local races and 17 proposed amendments to the Texas state constitution.
A majority of Texas' proposed amendments, 10 of 17, focus on tax policy, including Proposition 13. Prop 13 would lower property taxes by raising the homestead exemption in the state from $100,000 to $140,000.
