Alex Vesia did not attend the World Series celebration for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday, Nov. 3 – which was to be expected. Vesia and his wife, Kayla, are said to be going through a "deeply personal family matter," which caused Vesia to sit out the entirety of the World Series.
What some fans didn't expect is that the team didn't acknowledge Vesia during any of their speeches at Dodger Stadium.
"I’m shocked nobody has mentioned Vesia today," one person wrote on X. "Not even a 'this is for vesia' like bruh," the same social media user added in another message.
"Not a single member is of the Dodgers organization even acknowledged Vesia’s contribution to the season when they could have easily done so without violating his family’s privacy. Pretty distasteful," someone else said.

During Game 3 of the World Series, some fans noticed that guys in the bullpen decided to add Vesia's number (51) to their hats to honor him. By Game 7, pitchers on both teams (the Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays) had added a 51 to the side of their caps.
