The Washington Commanders’ season went from disappointing to devastating on Sunday night. Quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a dislocated left elbow late in the fourth quarter of a 38-14 blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks, an injury that cast a shadow over an already grim evening in D.C.
Jayden Daniels Dislocates Elbow as Commanders’ Season Hits New Low in 38-14 Loss to Seahawks
Daniels’ left arm bent awkwardly as he was sacked near the Seahawks’ goal line with just under eight minutes remaining. He clutched his arm in pain as trainers rushed onto the field, and teammates dropped to one knee. His elbow was placed in an air cast before he waved off a cart and walked gingerly to the locker room with staff holding his arm steady.
“Gut-wrenching,” right guard Sam Cosmi said afterward (via Ben Standig on Twitter/X). “You could just hear the air being taken out of everybody in the stadium.”
Daniels will undergo additional testing on Monday to determine the extent of the damage and a recovery timeline. The injury, to his non-throwing arm, is expected to sideline him for the foreseeable future — another brutal blow in a season already riddled with injuries for the 3-6 Commanders.

— Nicki Jhabvala (@NickiJhabvala) November 3, 2025Head coach Dan Quinn faced immediate scrutiny for leaving his franchise quarterback in the game with Washington trailing 38-7 in the closing minutes.
“Yeah, not in that space,” Quinn said (via Nicki Jhabvala on Twitter/X) when asked if he considered turning to backup Marcus Mariota. “Obviously, the hindsight, you don’t want to think that way where an injury could take place. … I’m just gutted by it. I’m bummed.”
The injury capped a nightmare night that also saw cornerback Marshon Lattimore exit with a knee injury feared to be a torn ACL and receiver Luke McCaffrey leave after breaking his collarbone on the opening kickoff. They join a growing list of Commanders already sidelined this season, including Terry McLaurin, Noah Brown, Austin Ekeler, and three starting defensive linemen.
Mariota, who replaced Daniels after the injury, said the locker room’s focus turned immediately to their young leader.
“He’s an incredible person,” Mariota said. “We all checked in on him. Right now, it’s about making sure he’s OK mentally. It sucks. There’s no way around it.”

The Buffalo Bills leaned on their franchise quarterback and a gritty defensive performance to take down the Kansas City Chiefs 28-21 on Sunday, holding off a final Patrick Mahomes Hail Mary to secure their fifth straight regular-season win over Kansas City.
Josh Allen accounted for three touchdowns — two on the ground and one through the air — as the Bills cobbled together just enough offense to outlast the reigning Super Bowl champions. Again, Allen’s dual-threat ability made the difference, compensating for a depleted receiving corps and an inconsistent passing game. Offensive coordinator Joe Brady relied on screens, tight end mismatches, and quick-game concepts to keep the Chiefs off balance.
Running back James Cook carried the load, becoming the first player in nearly two years to rush for over 100 yards against Kansas City. Tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox combined for a pivotal day in the passing attack — Kincaid led the team with six catches for 101 yards and a touchdown, including a 47-yard catch-and-run that set up Ty Johnson’s 3-yard score. Knox’s 30-yard reception later helped set up the first of Allen’s two quarterback sneaks for touchdowns.
Defensively, the Bills’ game plan was simple but brilliant: dare Kansas City to run. Buffalo loaded up to stop Mahomes and the Chiefs’ air attack, forcing them into their least productive offensive performance of the season. Mahomes completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes under relentless pressure from a shorthanded Bills defense missing multiple starters. Buffalo’s front disrupted the pocket all game, and when it mattered most, it held firm — batting down Mahomes’ final desperation heave short of the end zone as time expired.

History was made in Las Vegas on Sunday. Second-year kicker Cam Little drilled a 68-yard field goal as time expired in the first half of the Jaguars’ game against the Las Vegas Raiders, breaking the NFL record for the longest made field goal. Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker set the previous mark of 66 yards in 2021.

— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) November 2, 2025The NFL’s recent rule change allowing teams to keep and break in their own kicking balls during the week has helped extend the outer limits of kicking range. Previously, teams received their “K-balls” about an hour before kickoff, limiting prep time. The new rules, modern training, and equipment have changed what is possible for kickers.
