An Addison man is facing multiple felony charges after he allegedly fired shots at police and sprayed officers with pepper spray Thursday.
One officer was struck in his Kevlar vest by gunfire during the incident Thursday, which prompted a shelter-in-place order and resulted in an hours-long standoff that was handled by area SWAT teams.
According to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, Salvador Lozano was charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery to a police officer in connection with the case, which unfolded at a residence in the 200 block of East LaPorte Drive.
Officers were called to the scene just before noon, with a 911 caller asking for help in finding his dogs. An officer went to the scene and spoke to Lozano, but later left.
