Jan Ravnik's debut season on Dancing With the Stars brought a lot of drama for the first-timer. "I started the show [weighing] 182 pounds," Ravnik shared during a TikTok Live (via Reddit). "Yesterday, I went on my scale and it was 171. I lost 11 pounds from this job. This is because of you guys — you and all the anxiety and the press."
Before becoming a pro on Dancing With the Stars, Ravnik was most notably known for his experience as a background dancer for Swift during her Eras Tour. His ballroom dance experience (or lack thereof) was met with criticism from former pros Peta Murgatroyd and her husband Maks Chmerkovskiy.
"Jen has a major disadvantage," Murgatroyd, 39, said on The Penthouse With Peta podcast. "Hiring a non-ballroom dancer to teach a celebrity ballroom dance is outrageous."
"Jan has absolutely no business being a pro on Dancing With the Stars," Chmerkovskiy, 45, added at the time. "There’s zero foundation, technique, quality, understanding of the partnership. It is absurd. This is unreal — how blind we have to be to not say what’s obviously there."
Both have since issued apologies to Ravnik. Now the biggest question for Dancing With the Stars fans is whether or not Ravnik will return for another season. "I hope he wants to come back and I hope the producers want him back," one Redditor said. "I think they'll want him back, but I'm less sure that he'll want to subject himself to all the drama and press again."
Ravnik has only touched on whether or not he's likely to return. In another TikTok Live session, he said: "We'll see when they reach out next year what I'm doing. I do have a lot of other projects coming up, so we’ll see."
