Schneider announced the news on SwimCloud, writing:

Schneider is a middle-distance freestyle specialist who is also strong in the 200 backstroke, 200 butterfly, and both IMs, showcasing a Katinka Hosszu–like range of events.
Her first target meet of the 2024–25 season came at the South Carolina High School League 5A State Championships, held in mid-October. She grabbed two individual medals, silver in the 200 IM (2:07.15) and bronze in the 500 free (5:02.56), in addition to helping Wade Hampton take fifth in the 400 free relay and eighth in the 200 medley relay. Her times undercut the 2:07.90 and 5:04.44 she produced in February 2024, setting up a strong start to a season that saw her continue to drop PBs.
A year earlier, as a freshman, she was third in the 500 free (5:09.46) and fourth in the 200 IM (2:08.72).
Next up was December’s Winter Junior Championships, where Schneider touched 42nd in the 400 IM (4:26.31), 74th in the 200 back (2:03.71), and 102nd in the 200 IM (2:06.52). She dropped over two seconds from her best in the 200 back, clipped her newly minted 200 IM mark by 63 hundredths, and slid under her February 400 IM best by three tenths.
At the South Carolina Senior Championships, she walked away with second-place finishes in five events. She swam the 400 IM (4:23.62), dropping 2.69 seconds from her personal best, the 500 free (4:59.30), dropping 3.26 seconds, the 200 back (2:03.88), just 17 hundredths shy of her best, the 1000 free (10:11.71), and the 1650 free (17:10.38)—both events she doesn’t usually focus on. She went on to touch fourth in both the 200 free and 200 IM, setting personal bests of 1:52.24 and 2:05.41.
She wrapped up her season at the NCSA Spring Championships, placing 27th in both IMs with times of 2:05.44 and 4:24.30, just off her bests. She hit the wall 30th in the 500 free (4:59.50), again narrowly missing her PB, and hit career bests in the 200 free (1:51.37, 38th) and 200 back (2:03.04, 60th). She also added a 2:05.67 for 39th in the 200 fly, just 26 hundredths off her best time from the South Carolina Senior Championships, where she swam the event in prelims before scratching finals.
Though it’s still early in the 2025–26 season, she’s already on a roll, having notched a lifetime best of 4:58.00 to win the SCHSL title last month, along with a second-place finish in the 200 IM (2:06.34). She added a 52.06 split to help her team win the 400 free relay and delivered a 27.09 fly leg on the sixth-place 200 medley relay.

The Gamecocks carried that momentum into the NCAA Championships, where they placed 24th overall with 28 team points. Senior Greta Pelzek led the way with 11 points from an eighth-place finish in the 200 fly, while junior Amy Riordan added two points with a 15th-place result in the 200 back. Junior diver Sophie Verzyl accounted for the final 15 points on the boards, earning ninth in the 1-meter and 11th in the 3-meter events.
At the 2025 SEC Championships, where the top 24 finishers across the A, B, and C finals scored points, it took times of 1:46.68 in the 200 free, 4:44.88 in the 500 free, and 16:26.40 in the 1650 free to reach scoring range in the freestyles, while it required 1:59.04 (200 IM), 4:14.85 (400 IM), 1:58.30 (200 fly), and 1:55.25 (200 back) to score in her other top events. While she isn’t quite at scoring range yet, she’ll have two full years to develop before competing at SECs, and her versatility gives her multiple paths to contribute.
Schneider joins Paige Stepanoff, Maryellen Lewis, Madeline Ryan, Emmie Lewis, Ella Cooper, and Libby Helmer in committing to South Carolina’s class of 2031.
