2025 JOSE FINKEL TROPHY

Tuesday, October 28th – Saturday, November 1st São Paulo, Brazil LCM (50m) Recap #1/Recap #2/Recap #3 Meet Central Live Results

The 2025 Jose Finkel Trophy wrapped up its last night of competition in São Paulo, Brazil with Minas Tenis Clube claiming the overall team trophy.

Amassing a total of 2449 points, Minas Tennis Clube held off runners-up Pinheiros who collected 2027 points followed by Unisanta who placed 3rd overall with 1353 points

This marks Minas’ second major victory after already having claimed the Maria Lenk Trophy earlier this year.

The individual highest point earners were represented by Guilherme Costa of SESC who nabbed 145 points, while Argentine Agostina Hein notched 206 points for her Pinheiros.

27-year-old Costa concluded his campaign with a gold in the men’s 800m free where he posted a time of 7:56.88, a new competition record.

That was able to hold off Leonardo Alcantra who settled for silver in 7:59.46 followed closely by Thiago Ruffini who bagged the bronze in 7:59.87.

Costa won this 800m free both at the 2022 South American Games and the 2023 Pan American Games and owns a lifetime best and Brazilian national record of 7:45.48 from the 2022 World Championships.

Gabrielle Roncatto denied national record holder Beatriz Dizotti the gold in the women’s 1500m freestyle.

The 27-year-old Pan American Games multi-medalist stopped the clock at 16:25.27 to get the job done, with Leticia Romao snagging the silver in 16:27.78.

Dizotti did land on the podium, producing a time of 16:30.36, good enough for bronze. She’s been as quick as 16:01.95 in her career, the Brazilian benchmark she put on the books at the 2023 World Championships.

    Additional Notes

Guilherme Basseto topped the men’s 100m backstroke podium, turning in a time of 54.91. He was the sole competitor to clear the 55-second barrier, with Samuel Lopes hitting 55.11 for silver and Nicolas Albiero rounding out the podium in 55.48. The women’s 100m back field was void of any sub-minute performers. Julia Goes was the swiftest, putting up a gold medal-worthy effort of 1:02.21 followed by Malena Santillan who logged 1:02.80 for silver. Fernanda Goeij punched a result of 1:03.11 for 3rd place. Pedro Spajari was too quick to catch in the men’s 50m free, registering a mark of 22.35 for the gold. Marco Ferreira was next to the wall in 22.47 and Matheus Pereira was also in the mix with his mark of 22.51. The women’s 50m free saw Lorran Ferreira touch first in 25.24, well off her lifetime best of 24.78 from this past April. Luanna Oliveira hit 25.41 for silver and Sirena Cervantes posted 25.56 for the bronze medal.
