Dancing With the Stars Season 34 contestant Lauren Jauregui had one of the most unforgettable eliminations in the history of the ABC celebrity ballroom show.
The Fifth Harmony singer and her pro partner, Brandon Armstrong, were eliminated in the third week of the season after performing a cha-cha during TikTok night—to one of her musical group’s songs, no less.
Jauregui did not hold back when co-host Julianne Hough asked her how she was feeling following her elimination. “Pissed,” the singer bluntly replied.
The moment went viral as stunned fans supported Jauregui.
“Iconic behavior bc wtf was that elimination!!!!??!?” one fan wrote on Instagram.
“’Pissed’ DONT WORRY LAUREN WE ALL ARE TOO!” another wrote.
“Not a strong enough word...” a third viewer added.
One month later, Jauregui, 29, told People magazine she couldn’t help herself when put on the spot by Hough. "There's a lot of pressure that happens when you're in front of millions of people and feeling something really vulnerable and then have a mic shoved into your face and asked how you feel," she explained to the outlet in an interview published on Oct. 31. "And If I'm thinking it, I'm going to say it."
"In my mind, I was like, 'Oh my God, I'm so upset. I'm so sad. This isn't supposed to happen.’” Jauregui added. “[That] was just what my brain was telling me, and then the only word that came out of my mouth was 'pissed,' which is an interesting one."
Jauregui and her fans weren’t the only ones “pissed” about the early elimination. Armstrong, 31, soon teased on Instagram that he got the word “pissed” tattooed in cursive on his back by @christian_tattoos, alongside the number 34, the season he was partnered with Jauregui. The professional dancer credited fellow pro Ezra Sosa for the idea. Last season, Sosa had the word “nothing” inked on his back after his ousted partner Anna Delvey quipped that she got “nothing” out of her experience from the show.
“IT’s THE FONT!” Jauregui commented after noticing that the font was the same that Sosa had for his tattoo.
Jauregui also confirmed to People that she is still in touch with Armstrong after their abbreviated DWTS season. "I love him. I love his wife [Brylee],” she said. “They're really cool people. I'm excited to keep getting to know each other."
