The Miami Hurricanes left the state of Florida for the first time this season in Week 10. Unfortunately for them, they’re returning home with another blemish on their résumé following their 26-20 overtime loss to the SMU Mustangs.
Miami’s offense posted 433 total yards converted 43.8% (7/16) of its third-down attempts against SMU. Despite this, the Hurricanes mustered only 20 points. When asked about the performance, quarterback Carson Beck seemed to believe his coaching staff cost his unit a chance to put up even bigger numbers.
“They (SMU) ran the same [defense] the whole time. I just execute the play that’s called,” Beck said. “If I’m given the opportunity to, if I see something, change something, then I will. But, again, I just execute the play that’s called.”
