For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Isaiah Winko from Indianapolis, Indiana has announced he will stay in-state and continue his academic and athletic careers at DePauw University beginning in fall 2026.

“I’m extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at DePauw University. First I want to thank my parents for going out of their way to help me get to this point in my career, and I want to thank my coaches for leading me through all the failures and accomplishments that grew me to this point. I’d also like to thank all my fiends and teammates who have supported me from day one till now. Finally, I want to thank Coach Tracy, Coach Alan, and Coach Jenna for giving me this opportunity to compete on their team. Roll Tigs”

Winko swims for Pike Township Swim Club and swam to numerous best times at Indiana Senior States back in July. Thos included a 2:12.72 in the 200 IM, 4:49.73 in the 400 IM, 1:09.58 100 breast, and a 2:30.91 200 breast. His highest finish came in finals of the 200 IM where he was 8th in a 2:13.93, just off his time from prelims.

Back in March, he finished his short course season at Indiana States as well, and had his highest finish in the 100 breast as he swam to a personal best 58.80 for 17th. He also was 18th in the 200 IM with a season best 1:58.68. He began his senior fall at Pike High School this year and was unable to compete due to transfer eligibility rules last year. He will swim for the team this season as a senior.

    Winko’s Best SCY Times Are:

    100 breast: 58.80 200 breast: 2:09.98 100 free: 47.67 100 fly: 52.47 200 IM: 1:57.93 400 IM: 4:22.69

The DePauw men finished 6th out of nine teams at the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference Championships. James Shorney led the way with 80 individual points and helped the team to a 3rd place finish in the 200 free relay, the team’s highest finish at the meet.

Based on his best times, Winko would have made the ‘B’ final of the 100 breast, 200 breast, 100 free, and 100 fly and he also is on the border of the conference ‘B’ and ‘C’ final of the 200 and 400 IMs.

Winko will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Camden Bailey and Brady Wright. All three boys are from Indiana.
