The Los Angeles Dodgers pitchers continue to show love and support to Alex Vesia, who is away from the team following a "deeply personal family matter."
During Game 6 of the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays, it was do or die for the Dodgers, who managed to keep their lead into the ninth inning. As each reliever took the mound, fans may have noticed that they had Vesia's number (51) on the side of their hats.

The hat numbers first debuted during Game 3, just days after the team made a heartbreaking announcement.
"It’s with a heavy heart that we share that Alex Vesia is away from the team as he and his wife Kayla navigate a deeply personal family matter. The entire Dodger organization is sending our thoughts to the Vesia family, and we will provide an update at a later date,” the complete statement from the team, shared on Oct. 23, read.
The team nor Vesia have shared any additional updates on the situation. However, it's beyond clear that Vesia isn't far from his teammates' minds.
“It’s been pretty emotional down there recently, with everything that’s going on with Ves,” Dodgers pitcher Emmet Sheehan told The New York Times’The Athletic after the team’s game three win on Oct. 27. “We were thinking of him all night."
Vesia and his wife, Kayla, had been expecting their first child — a baby girl — any day prior to the team's announcement.
The Dodgers and the Jays are heading to Game 7 of the World Series on Nov. 1 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. Right now, it's anybody's game.
