Week 9 Chicago Bears Injury Report — D’Andre Swift, Three Others Ruled Out

The final Bears injury report of the week is out, and it’s ugly. Ben Johnson’s offense will be without three notable names in Cincinnati this week.

The Chicago Bears will be without running back D’Andre Swift on Sunday as he deals with a groin injury. Roschon Johnson will also miss Week 9, placing the load squarely on rookie Kyle Monangai on Sunday in Cincinnati.

Kyle Monangai will be Chicago’s lead back on Sunday in Cincinnati, backed up by veteran special-teams player Travis Homer and likely practice-squad running back Brittan Brown. Travis Homer has seen six regular-season rushing attempts in parts of three seasons with Chicago, and Brown hasn’t played in an NFL game since 2022, when he was a special-teamer in Vegas.

Aside from Monangai being thrust into a lead role this weekend, rookie wide receiver Luther Burden III will remain sidelined with a concussion. While Rome Odunze, DJ Moore, and Olamide Zaccheus will all play on Sunday, they’re all nursing varying injuries.

The only good news here is that key players like Moore and Odunze, who were on the injury report this week, aren’t listed with a designation, meaning they’ll give it a go on Sunday.

THESE PLAYERS WERE A FULL GO AT PRACTICE AND HAVE NO INJURY DESIGNATION

Defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (knee), wide receiver DJ Moore (hip), cornerback Tyrique Stevenson (shoulder), left guard Joe Thuney (rest), wide receiver Rome Odunze (heel), wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus (knee), and tight end Cole Kmet (back).

Who knows what these guys will be capable of on Sunday, having been nursing injuries all week (and for some, for multiple weeks). Regardless, these guys at less than 100 percent are still better than nothing, especially considering some of the key names not playing in Week 9 for Chicago.
