Julia Fox's Halloween costume has everyone talking, but not in a good way.
The model and Uncut Gems actress is no stranger to criticism over her bold fashion choices, but she stirred up quite the controversy with her Halloween costume, as many called her out for taking it too far.
The 35-year-old stepped out at The Cursed Amulet's Halloween Party in New York City on Thursday, Oct. 30, dressed as Jackie Kennedy (Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis) on the day of her husband, President John F. Kennedy's assassination.
The costume consisted of a recreation of the iconic pink suit and pillbox hat that Jackie wore on Nov. 22, 1963, along with white gloves and a dark wig. However, the costume also featured fake blood splatter on the suit, following Kennedy's fatal shooting while riding in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas.

In a time where comment sections are typically divided, everyone seemed to be in agreement that the move was "disrespectful."
"This is wildly inappropriate. Everything that’s wrong with this world," someone weighed in, as another added, "I have an extremely dark sense of humor and even I find this horribly tasteless and inappropriate."

"Nice to see agreement in the comments. Whoever thought this was a good idea should be cancelled," another pointed out, with others noting, "That's very disrespectful and tacky. I can't believe somebody would do that?"
As People reported, per the New York Times, Jackie's "blood-splattered clothes" were preserved at the National Archives and Records Administration’s facility in College Park, Maryland.
Historian Steve Gillon previously told the outlet that Jackie "went out in her blood-stained suit and stood next to Lyndon Johnson. Despite these horrible circumstances, she was willing to stand for a photo because she understood what it meant for the nation to have continuity in government."

Fox, who briefly dated rapper KanyeWest in 2022, has not issued a comment on the costume or the critiscim she's received as a result, though she did share photos from the event to her Instagram Story, including one from Vogue Spain, where the comment section continued to be in agreemeent that the costume was inappropriate, especially following the "circumstances in which it happened," calling it "very bad taste," with one noting, "If she was the one to lose her husband like that, I bet she didn't like him as a costume. It’s just plain disrespectful."
The 35th President of the United States died that day at the age of 46, while Jackie died in her sleep from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 1994 at 64.
