Food Networks Katie Lee Biegel Shares Honest Feelings About The Kitchen Ending

Katie Lee Biegel, 44, is speaking out following news that Food Network's longtime weekend show, The Kitchen, is ending after more than a decade, and she is being "perfectly honest" with fans about her true feelings on the cancellation.

"I have been on The Kitchen on Food Network for the last, gosh, almost 12 years, and it's time for The Kitchen to close," Biegel shared on the Oct. 30 episode of her All on the Table with Katie Lee Biegel podcast. "To be perfectly honest: I'm sad."

"I love the show so much. It has changed my life," the Comfort Table cookbook author continued. "I love my cohosts [Sunny Anderson, Geoffrey Zakarian, and Jeff Mauro] so much, they're like my family. And I love all of our crew behind the scenes."

After 40 seasons and 534 episodes, Biegel thanked her fans and reflected on the best part of hosting the weekend staple series. "It's been so wonderful to be in your homes and on your TVs," she said. "When I hear people tell me that they made one of my recipes for their Thanksgiving or their holiday table or just a Tuesday night dinner, I truly feel so honored."

Fans quickly took to the comments to share their thoughts on Biegel's vulnerable post. "So sad about this. The best show on the network. Too many competition shows that are really irrelevant to most home cooks. Your show hit where we needed it to, a good mix of all styles. Your mixture of hosts was the best also!" said one fan. Another agreed, writing, "I've been watching for 12 years and I’m going to miss you guys. I love this show!"

Biegel has been featured on numerous Food Network shows over the years, including Beach Bites With Katie Lee, Kitchen Sink, Guilty Pleasures, and a brief stint hosting Top Chef. These days, she is a frequent guest on Beat Bobby Flay, but doesn't have another consistent show besides The Kitchen. Many fans are hoping she'll get a new show, or join an existing one as a judge.

"Why don't you and your cohosts pitch a similar show to a streaming service or do YouTube?" one fan suggested, while another wrote, "I hope another station picks you guys up!"

The Kitchen's final episode will air on Saturday, December 13, at 11 a.m.
