ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 55-year-old faces charges after Rochester Police say he shot a man he knew on Jefferson Avenue near Columbia Avenue.
Marcus Canady is charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon. U.S. marshals arrested him on Monday while he was leaving a house on Shelter Street. Detectives say they found a revolver in that house.
The shooting happened on Oct. 2. Rochester Police say they found the victim around 10:15 p.m. with a serious head injury and a gunshot wound to the torso. The victim, in his 20s, was originally hospitalized in critical condition, but his condition improved after surgery.
RPD says the victim and Canady “had prior issues.” Canady is accused of hitting the victim with a revolver before shooting him. Canady, a city resident, was taken to the Monroe County Jail.
