RG&E’s community connection event
RG&E’s community connection series will close out on Thursday with one last event to connect people with customer service representatives.
No registration is needed. People can stop by to learn about the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) and other assistance programs. They can also get advice on managing energy use before the cold weather hits, ask questions about smart meters, and more.
The series kicked off last week with two open houses and continued on Wednesday afternoon and evening. The event on Thursday, Oct. 30, will run from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Irondequoit Public Library. To learn more, visit RG&E’s website here.
Witch documentary screening at The Little
The Little Theatre on East Avenue is screening a documentary about the portrayal of witches in film throughout the decades.
Filmmaker Jenny Grace Sankey looks at the portrayal of witches from classics like The Wizard of Oz to modern horror favorites. Guided by her own journey with motherhood and mental health, she uncovers how the “witch” has long represented society’s fears and misconceptions about women, power, and mental illness.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the screening starts at 7 p.m. You can get tickets here.
All Things Dead DeTOUR at the MAG
In honor of spooky season, archaeologist Dr. Alexander Smith will speak about objects in the Memorial Art Gallery’s Collection that relate to death.
He’ll take guests on a journey back in time to see how people lived, died, and how their bodies have been preserved. He’ll also present on the mysterious things he’s discovered in the field. It runs from 6 to 7 p.m. You can get tickets here.
