ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A Yellow Alert remains up for Thursday and Friday for rounds of wind and rain. Thursday will see steady rain right off the bat, with some periods of a moderate to heavy rain. The steadiest rain will tend to taper somewhat into the afternoon and evening, before redeveloping late and overnight as the low pulls away. Thursday will also be a breezy day, with gusts near 30 out of the east. This typically wouldn’t produce power outages, but there may be a few isolated outages due to the easterly wind direction. Rainfall amounts on Thursday will push 1″ in many locations across the area.
The Yellow Alert continues into Friday for the combination of wind and rain. The rain won’t be as steady, but the wind will be gustier, out of the west at 40 mph. This will create less than ideal conditions for kids Trick or Treating, and make it harder for drivers to see them on the streets. Take it slower on Friday, especially after the sun goes down, so everybody stays safe on Halloween. Again, power outages aren’t likely, but a few customers may lose power here and there.
The weekend will show some improvement, with occasional showers on Saturday, followed by dry weather on Sunday. Weather doesn’t look like a factor for the Bills game on Sunday, with a mix of clouds and sun, and seasonable cool temperatures.
