(PINPOINT WEATHER) -- Tuesday is starting off with a damp chill across the region and wet roadways for your morning commute. Temperatures are sitting in the upper 40s and low 50s, and light rain is already falling in some spots. This is one of those mornings where the windshield wipers get a workout before you even hit the highway.

Tuesday afternoon, expect off-and-on showers with highs only reaching the low 50s in Charlotte. Winds will be breezy out of the northeast, making it feel cooler than the temperatures suggest. Visibility may drop at times, so take it easy if you’re out and about and give yourself extra time to get to your destination.
Tuesday night, the rain will be widely scattered and isolated in nature but mostly dry. Temperatures dip into the low to mid-40s, and the breeze sticks around.
Looking at the rest of the week, Wednesday brings more clouds and drizzle with highs in the low 50s. Another round of showers will move in on Wednesday afternoon and linger into Thursday. We’ll finally start to dry out by Thursday, with sunshine returning and highs climbing back into the 60s.
In our mountains, Tuesday will be wet and chilly. Highs will top out in the 40s, and rain will be steady throughout the day. Overnight lows fall into the low 40s and upper 30s, and fog may settle in across higher elevations. Rain chances stick around through midweek, but leaf color is still hanging on in some spots.
