CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WHEC) — A man of many rushing yards, James Cook is also a man of few words. And even a 216-yard day on the ground wasn’t enough to get Cook out of his shell.
But he did credit a good gameplan heading into week 8 for his career day.
“That’s what we harped on all week, just starting fast, and setting our identity as a football team and I feel like we did that early and often,” said Cook.
For Cook, the 216 yards is his most since he got to the NFL in 2022. It’s also the most by any player in the NFL this season, beating out the previous high of 206 from Panthers RB Rico Dowdle.
“He’s playing outstanding. I think the more times we can get the ball in his hands the better that we’re gonna be,” said Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
Allen, who had a quiet day through the air, did rush in for two touchdowns, bringing his career total to 70. On the year, Cook and Allen have now combined for 12 rushing TDs, the second-most of any QB-RB duo in the league.
