Lakeside Aquatic Club’s McKennah Greer has verbally committed to the University of Houston as a part of the 2027 recruiting class for the Cougars.
I am SO excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the D1 level at the University of Houston! I’d like to thank God, my family, and my friends for their continuous support throughout my swimming career. I’m also incredibly thankful for all my teammates and coaches at Lakeside Aquatic Club for making me the athlete I am today. Lastly, a huge thank you to Coach Allan and Coach Tanica for giving me this incredible opportunity. I can’t wait for the next chapter with this amazing team! GO COOGS!!!
The Flower Mound, Texas, native wrapped up her summer at the Speedo Junior National Championships (LCM). There, she swam two best, clocking 35.45 in the 50 breaststroke (129th) and 17:23.12 in the 1500 freestyle (36th). Additionally, Greer finished 70th in the 800 free in 9:16.13.
Representing Flower Mound High School at the 2025 UIL 6A State Championship in February, Greer turned in an 11th-place finish in the 500 free, clocking 5:00.55, just shy of her best time of 4:59.76 from the UIL Region 2-6A Championships two weeks earlier. She also finished 18th in the 200 IM in 2:07.46 after setting a best of 2:06.79 two weeks earlier
In early March, at the Speedo Sectionals in Justin, Greer added another three notable best times to her personal record book,LAd clocking 4:24.44 in the 400 IM, 10:13.55 in the 1000 free and 17:07.72 in the 1650 free.,

With Greer’s current best times, she would have finished 22nd in the 400 IM, 36th in the 500 free, and 27th in the 1650 free.
Her distance free times are already signals future scoring potential for the Cougars. Given that these best times have all come within the last calendar year, Greer figures to challenge for crucial points in the Big 12 in two years time.
Greer joins Kaia Robinson in the 2027 recruiting class for Houston.
