The Hobbits Are Back Together — and Their Big News Has Fans Cheering

It’s been nearly 25 years since Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd first brought Middle-earth’s most beloved hobbits to life, but the foursome reunited in a new promo for FanExpo and shared some very exciting news.

“Guys, guys, guess what,” Wood, 44, began in a new TikTok video shared on Thursday, October 23, featuring him and the rest of his hobbit clan.

“We are heading off on a new adventure,” Boyd, 57, chimed in before Wood continued, “It’s going to be fun. It’s going to be epic.”

The group announced they’ll be “taking the Hobbits across America” in 2026 for An Evening with the Hobbits: In Celebration of 25 Years, a nationwide tour marking a quarter-century since The Fellowship of the Ring hit theaters.

According to FanExpo HQ, the cast will “journey to 11 FAN EXPO shows” next year for what’s billed as “more than a reunion and so much more than a panel," and naturally, “because what’s better than second breakfast? Elevenses at 11 shows.” The event promises exclusive experiences, photo ops and autographs as fans celebrate “a quarter-century of Middle-earth magic with the hobbits who stole our hearts.”

Of course, in true Fellowship fashion, the four couldn’t quite keep straight faces long enough to get through the video. Wood repeatedly burst into laughter as they attempted to name the cities on the tour, while Boyd and Monaghan, 48, tried (and failed) to hold it together.

“How on earth did the original movies ever get made?” one viewer joked in the comments. Another wrote, “Elijah can’t be around Dom and Billy without cracking up,” while a third dubbed Astin, 54, “the dad of the group” for his attempts to keep everyone on task.

The tour will kick off in 2026 with shows everywhere from New Orleans in January to Dallas in September, giving fans a chance to relive the camaraderie that made the original trilogy so timeless.

Curiously, there’s a break in July, which happens to be right when production begins on The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, the newly announced film directed by Andy Serkis with Peter Jackson producing. While only Serkis, who played Gollum in the original trilogy, has been officially confirmed, fans can’t help but wonder if this summer hiatus is a coincidence or a clue that the Fellowship might reunite on screen once again. Either way, the spirit of Middle-earth clearly lives on.
