Hudson admittedly didn't know much about a future movie, stating, "Well, you know, I never know. I find out a lot of what I know from the fans more than from the studio."
However, he did finally provide some context about the previously teased animated series in development from Netflix, adding, "I know they're talking about something else, but we're also in the middle of doing an animated series, and you know, I’m Winston Zeddemore, and I own the Ghostbusters franchise."
"So there'll be more and I'm excited about it," he confirmed, adding that fans should expect "more to come," and seemingly hinting that he'll be involved in the animated series this time around, unlike The Real Ghostbusters, in which his character was voiced by Arsenio Hall and later Buster Jones.

Hudson originated the role of Zeddemore in the 1984 film and returned for its 1989 sequel, along with Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021), and the most recent installment, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024). The sci-fi franchise also includes the female-led Ghostbusters (2016), which saw Hudson making an appearance as a different character named Uncle Bill Jenkins.
As fans await more Ghostbusters content, the 79-year-old is keeping busy, most recently reprising his role as LC Duncan in the new season of the BET+ drama, which premiered on Oct. 23. He's set to voice Combat Carl in Toy Story 5, alongside Ghostbusters co-star, Annie Potts (who played Janine Melnitz), who is said to be returning as Bo Peep.
