Syria and Germany discussed Thursday strengthening bilateral cooperation in disaster management and humanitarian and development challenges.
Syrian Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh met with The Chargé d’Affaires of the German Embassy in Damascus Clemens Hach to explore ways to enhance collaboration in emergency response and reconstruction.
During the meeting at the ministry’s headquarters in Damascus, al-Saleh emphasized the importance of leveraging Germany’s experience in organizing volunteer work and promoting community participation, noting that such initiatives support national recovery and help build sustainable institutional capacities in disaster and emergency management.
Ambassador Hach expressed Germany’s interest in supporting Syrian initiatives that strengthen national institutions in addressing humanitarian and developmental challenges.
The Ministry of Emergency Management continues to expand international cooperation in disaster management and community recovery, in line with global standards for emergency response and resilience.
