Did The Bachelorette just cast Lana Del Rey's ex-fiancée?
On Thursday, Oct. 23, ABC released a list potential suitors vying for the heart of Taylor Frankie Paul on the next season of The Bachelorette.
Among them was 35-year-old Clayton Johnson, a musician from Nashville, Tennessee who met Del Rey on a dating app in 2020 and proposed to her in December of that year. However, the pair called it quits in fall 2021 and have since deleted all traces of one another on their social media pages.
Under his cast photo posted to The Bachelorette's Facebook page, fans expressed excitement that Johnson may be joining the reality dating show.
"He looks like he’s from hallmark movies," wrote one commenter. "He’s winning." said another.
"He’s giving grocery store Joe vibes," added a third, referencing fan-favorite Bachelorette contestant Joe Amabile.

Though fans are interested in seeing Johnson on the season, not every bachelor unveiled by ABC will make it on the show. For Jenn Tran's season of The Bachelorette, the final cast was announced a little over a month before her season's premiere.
If he makes it on the show, Paul may become Johnson's second celebrity fiancée. Prior to becoming the Bachelorette, Paul was best known for her role on ABC's The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

She was previously married to Tate Paul, who is the father of her daughter Indy, 8, and her son Ocean, 5. Paul also shares son Ever, 1, with ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortenson.
As for Del Rey, she has since moved on with alligator tour guide Jeremy Dufrene, whom she married in September 2024.
The Bachelorette airs on ABC in 2026 and will be available the next day on Hulu.
