Netflixs Stranger Things 2-Hour Series Finale to Play in Theaters: Everything to Know

The Stranger Thingsseries finale is almost here — and by "here," we don't just mean on your TV. Netflix announced on Oct. 23, 2025, that the two-hour closer to the beloved sci-fi horror series will also be released in movie theaters for a very limited engagement (as in, even shorter in duration than KPop Demon Hunterssing-along events are in theaters).

The news will surely make the Duffer Brothers, who created the show, quite happy.

“People don’t get to experience how much time and effort is spent on sound and picture, and they’re seeing it at reduced quality,” Matt Duffer previously told Variety of potentially releasing the show on movie screens. “More than that, it’s about experiencing it at the same time with fans.”

“That would be amazing,” Ross Duffer concurred. “Because the fans could be there with other fans, and experience it as a communal thing — it would be incredible.”
