It’s the news everybody — well, at least fans — are going to want after finishing Season 2 of Nobody Wants This. Ahead of the show's return, Parade spoke about a potential third season with Kristen Bell, who revealed that it was currently being written.

"The writer's room is working right now," the actress shared. "You never know if you're gonna be able to shoot because that's way above our pay grade, and they decide what shows are gonna be shot. But the writer's room is writing it right now. That we know."

Looking ahead at what could be next for hot rabbi Noah and agnostic podcaster Joanne, Adam Brody told Parade that he would like to see the couple finally move in together, or get engaged "relatively soon." Given that his character was "so slow on the moving in together" in Season 2, Brody thinks that Noah "needs to make up for it in some way."

"I think if he could hit the gas, the pedal in another area, that would be nice," the Emmy nominee said.

Season 2 of 'Nobody Wants This,' starring Adam Brody and Kristen Bell, was released on Oct. 23, 2025

The Season 2 finale saw Joanne and Noah break up mid-episode, and ended with Noah telling Joanne that she's his soulmate and that he doesn't care whether or not she's Jewish. "I choose you. Every time," Noah declared, to which Joanne replied, "Well, you're in luck."

For Brody, the ending "wasn't an all-in-one surprise." He explained, "Because I think those last few episodes were in flux, really until the last second. And so it was kind of a real open communication, constant contact. And we saw a lot of versions of those last two episodes."

But "panicked" would be the word for Brody's reaction when he first read the ending.

"Just because it was the one part, everything else was like really ironed out," The O.C. alum said. "And the scripts came more than last year, the scripts came fully formed. And then just the last two were like, you know, 'Start again, start again' a few times. And so it was like 'Where is this gonna land?'"

Bell added, "I think the uncertainty came from, if I can remember, it's like all the writers were like, 'Okay, is this it? Do we have it?' And then everyone would sort of read it and be like, 'I'm not sure. Well, if we're not sure, then let's try again. Do we have it?'"

"There's a real commitment to everybody kind of like feeling that it's right, and it's not something that you can just bullet point on the wall in a writers' room," the Frozen star continued. "Like, 'They're gonna say this to each other and they're gonna have this happen, then they're gonna kiss, the end.' You really have to feel it out. And I think those last two episodes were paramount to get right, and they took a lot of cracks at it, but I think they nailed it."

Kristen Bell revealed that the "writers' room is working right now" on a third season

Nobody Wants This, which debuted last year, spent six weeks in Netflix’s Global English Top 10 TV List and reached the Top 10 in 89 countries. It was also viewed 57 million times from its release date through the end of 2024.

As for why the hit romantic comedy series seems to be resonating with millennials, Brody mused to Parade, "I think the modern conversation that they're having. I think it's a more communicative generation than ones that came before, and these characters are, you know, nothing, if not communicating with each other and learning to listen. And I think that that resonates for a lot of people of a similar age or younger."

Bell, meanwhile, remarked, "I think every generation gets more communicative and more sort of a higher EQ, I guess. But, I think, I would say that maybe data tells us that even though they're more emotionally adept, they're not as practiced, because people are spending a lot more time apart in isolation and phones and whatever all the other data points are. So there's not the practice of it. So you may know it, but you have to practice it."

The Veronica Mars actress pointed out that she could "tell you how to draw, but if you don't ever draw, you don't really know what you're doing." Bell said, "But in order to practice something, you first have to see it modeled, and you have to see it modeled in dimension, not just like a post that you're seeing on Instagram, where it's one person's POV. And in this show, you're seeing a relationship with two separate POVs modeled with healthy communication. And I think modeling behavior is the first step to practicing it."
