In her latest Instagram post, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer star marked her mother’s birthday with a heartfelt throwback.
Along with the throwback, the ‘90s icon shared a heartfelt message in honor of her mom’s special day, seamlessly blending nostalgia with gratitude.
“Smile big… It’s my mom's birthday!! Being a parent myself, I now understand the sacrifice that being a mother truly is. I wouldn’t trade it for the world, and I’m grateful for the example that was shown to me,” she wrote.

"Up until the day I got Buffy, casting directors were still saying, 'Oh, she's not ready; she's too green,' she's too soap,’” she recalled.
This is why her character Buffy Anne Summers resonates so deeply with her.
"Buffy's very similar to me when I was growing up," she added. "A child in an adult world, sort of trapped between the two. Does Buffy go to the prom or does she save the world from demons?"
Besides the ‘90s supernatural drama television series, Sarah Michelle Gellar appeared in a slew of iconic TV shows and movies, including I Know What You Did Last Summer,Cruel Intentions,Scooby-Doo and Scream 2.
