KISS lead guitarist Ace Frehley died at 74, and now, a death investigation is underway as a toxicology report was ordered.
On Oct. 16, the rock icon died just weeks after he reportedly fell in his studio in September, forcing him to cancel shows. Frehley reportedly suffered a brain bleed and was placed on life support.

Ace Frehley's Family Confirmed the KISS Star's Death on Oct. 16
Shortly after news that Frehley was on life support surfaced, his family confirmed his death.
“We are completely devastated and heartbroken,” Frehley’s family said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth.”

Fast-forward to Wednesday, Oct. 22, and TMZ reported that an autopsy was not performed on Frehley following his death. The rock star, however, is receiving a toxicology screening and an external body examination, according to a representative for the Morris County Medical Examiner.
Additionally, Frehley's cause of death will be finalized within the next few weeks after the toxicology report is done.

KISS Members Shared Tributes to Ace Frehley After His Death
On the same day that Frehley's death was confirmed, KISS band members reacted to the shocking news.
“I am devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley. He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its history,” Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons said in a joint statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “He is and will always be a part of KISS’s legacy. My thoughts are with Jeanette, Monique and all those who loved him, including our fans around the world.”
