Jeremy Allen White received a sweet and special gift from Bruce Springsteen himself ahead of the release of the biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere.
In an interview with CBS Mornings back on Oct. 16, The Bear actor, 34, revealed the rock icon, 76, gifted him a beloved baseball hat that has been a part of his collection for 30 years.
Bruce Springsteen wore this Yankees hat for 30 years. Now, Jeremy Allen White, who plays “The Boss” in the new film “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere,” calls that very hat his “good luck charm,” after Springsteen gave it to him. #jeremyallenwhite #brucespringsteen #yankees #mets

White, who is portraying the "Glory Days" singer in Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, then revealed that Springsteen gifted him a New York Yankees hat when met up again after the film festival.
The actor pointed to the hat he wore during the interview and said that "This is the hat he's had for 30 years. All tattered and torn." Now that the hat belongs to him, White revealed that he's "been carrying it around as a good luck charm."
The new biopic will follow Springsteen's journey as a young musician as he records his 1982 album, Nebraska. According to the official synopsis, the film will focus on Springsteen as "a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past.”
Jeremy Allen White on portraying Bruce Springsteen
In a different interview with CBS back on Oct. 12, White opened up more about how he approached playing the "Born in the U.S.A." singer on the big screen and said he wasn't sure how people will react to his performance.
“Everybody’s got their own idea of Bruce Springsteen," he explained. "And I think at the beginning, I was approaching it like, how am I going to make everybody happy? That’s a fool’s errand. It’s an impossibility.”

When he prepared for the role, White also said “If you’re gonna do one thing to get it right, you have to perform to the point of exhaustion” and added "‘Cause he continues until he cannot go any longer.”

“I asked him, what’s that panic about? You know, what is that fear inside of you? And he said, ‘I had this moment where I felt like an outsider and observer in my own life,'” White continued, recalling his conversations with the singer when taking the role.
“When he told me about that, that feeling of being an observer of your own life, that was very familiar to me,” he continued. “I remember when I found acting, there was a lot of chaos and confusion... a lot going on. I couldn’t focus on myself. And I found acting, and I found some peace and I found some focus.”
