ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man, 27, is accused of shooting a person on Evergreen Street off North Clinton Avenue after a house party turned into a fight.
Hassann Ross is charged with first-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. The shooting happened on Oct. 5 and Rochester Police officers found the victim with an upper-body gunshot wound and other injuries.
RPD says the victim, in his 30s, originally had life-threatening injuries but staff at Strong Memorial Hospital were able to save him. Investigators eventually determined that an after-hours party led to a fight in the street, where shots were fired.
Officers arrested Ross on Tuesday on Ravine Avenue. RPD says he was previously convicted of robbery and a gun charge and released from parole last month.
