Berhampur: Twelve persons were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the murder of senior advocate and BJP member Pitabash Panda near his residence here on 6 October.
This has been informed by Berhampur SP Vivek M.
Those arrested include Chintu Pradhan, Sishupal Kumar Paswan, Kundan Kumar, Bipin Swain, Simanchala Naik, Jogendra Rauto, Malaya Kumar Bisoyi, Madan Mohana Dalai, Sivashankar Dash, Rajendra Kumar Sahu, Kalucharana Bhuyan and Bikram Kumar Panda.
The motive is linked to political, financial, and business rivalries.
On October 6, two motorcycle-borne assailants shot Pitabash Panda while he was returning home on a scooter under Baidyanathpur police jurisdiction.
