Over $9,000 in jewelry items were stolen from a thrift store in Oak Park, prompting a police investigation, authorities said.
According to an Oak Park Police Department report from Oct. 16 and 17, someone gained entry to the Economy Shop, 103 S. Grove Ave., and removed a jewelry box containing an unspecified amount of items, including costume jewelry. The total loss of the items was estimated at $9,008.
The theft was believed to have occurred between Sept. 30 and Oct. 7, the police report stated. Anyone with information was asked to call the Oak Park Police Department at 708-434-1636.
