Ellen DeGeneres just gave fans a rare glimpse inside her life in the English countryside — and introduced a new four-legged family member in the process.
In a new Instagram video shared Sunday, October 19, the former talk show host showed off the sunlit living room of her and wife Portia de Rossi’s sprawling Cotswolds estate, where their two dogs were seen playing together.
“They’ve finally figured it out. We’ve all been sad since losing Augie,” DeGeneres captioned the post, referencing their beloved rescue dog who passed away in May. “Sport has brought so much joy into the house and it makes us so happy to see Kid play again, even though he has a very unique style of play.”

The video showed the couple’s spacious and tastefully decorated home — complete with large windows overlooking the countryside. The living space featured cozy looking furniture, while the adjoining dining area looked ready for entertaining. Both her dogs wer the center of attention in the video, however, which showed them zooming around the home.
DeGeneres, 67, and de Rossi, 52, relocated to the U.K. full-time in 2024, purchasing a 43-acre property before moving into their current home, which has even more land for de Rossi’s horses. Back in August of this year, DeGeneres shared another glimpse into their world when she posted a video of de Rossi horseback riding through the hills. “Portia’s living her dream riding her horse through the English countryside and into the village. Gosh I hope she comes home soon,” she joked in the caption.

While the couple’s quiet life abroad has been met with some admiration from fans, DeGeneres has continued to face lingering controversy surrounding her former talk show. Just days after her August post, a former Ellen DeGeneres Show cameraman accused the host of being “difficult” to work for and recounted how she “really didn’t like guys,” mentioning how she went through male employees very fast.
While DeGeneres has yet to comment on the new claim, she did address some old ones back in 2020, taking accountability for her actions and apologizing to her employees in a staff email.
