Michael J. Fox is giving back to fans in a big way.
Decades afterBack to the Future made him a household name, the beloved actor is still finding creative ways to connect with his supporters. As he celebrates the release of his new memoir Future Boy and the 40th anniversary of the iconic sci-fi film, Fix has all of New York City on high alert with his latest challenge.
Taking to Instagram, Fox announced, “To celebrate the release of my newest book ‘Future Boy’ and the 40th anniversary of ‘Back to the Future’s’ release in theaters, I’m signing this copy of ‘Future Boy.’”
But the prize is more than just a signed book. “I’m leaving it at The Corner Bookstore in New York City. The person who purchases this copy will receive two free tickets at the checkout counter to watch Back to the Future in theaters,” he revealed, adding, “It has to be this book with the voucher.”
Fox wished his fans good luck, saying, “Happy hunting.”
While this signed copy and movie tickets are part of a one-time drop, Fox hinted there could be more surprises on the way. “We might have some more ticket drops around the city, too. Stay tuned,” he teased in the caption.

Future Boy, co-written with Fox’s collaborator Nelle Fortenberry, hit shelves on October 14. In the memoir, Fox shares a behind-the-scenes look at a pivotal moment in his career — filming Back to the Future and the hit sitcom Family Ties simultaneously during the 1980s.
“I’m feeling the strain,” he reportedly writes in his book, “but that’s nobody’s business but mine.”
The novel dives into how Fox managed the grueling schedule, all while navigating the pressures of fame, and eventually, his Parkinson’s diagnosis.
Even after retiring from acting in 2020 due to complications from Parkinson’s disease, Fox has kept his creative spark alive.
In addition to writing Future Boy, he filmed a guest arc for the upcoming third season of Apple TV+’s Shrinking, marking his return to TV after five years. He’s also completing the audiobook version of Future Boy and continuing his work with the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, which he founded in 2000.
“I’m always retiring,” Fox joked to People, referencing his earlier decision to step away from acting after leaving Spin City in 2000.
With everything he has in motion, the past year has been a whirlwind — in the best way. As Fox put it, “It’s just been really positive, really energizing.”
