PACOIMA — Police sought the public’s help Monday finding a driver who fatally struck a pedestrian in Pacoima and fled the scene.
The 40-year-old victim was struck around 10 p.m. Sunday in the 13200 block of Van Nuys Boulevard, east of San Fernando Road, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the man was hit near Ralston Avenue by a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup that was southbound on the boulevard.
The pedestrian, a resident of Pacoima, was crossing the intersection diagonally when he was struck, police said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not immediately available.
Witnesses told a videographer the pickup was last seen northbound on Sutter Avenue from Van Nuys Boulevard.
Anyone with information about the fatal hit and run was urged to call the LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division at 818-644-8116 to speak with Investigator James Takishita.
