RUSH, N.Y. — The Flower City Down Syndrome Network hosted its 29th annual Buddy Walk on Sunday at the Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp in Rush.
The walk brings together hundreds of people for a scenic walk through the woods and is a chance for families of people with Down syndrome to connect with each other.
“It means that everyone is inclusive and basically having fun. We’ve been coming to the Buddy Walk since Gabby was six months old, and it’s just important for the community to know what Down syndrome is and to be aware,” said Marisa Howard, Gabby’s mother.
The Flower City Down Syndrome Network’s mission is to provide education, support, and inclusive opportunities for people with Down syndrome and their families.
