SEC Shorts brings in therapist to talk to battered SEC teams

We’re now through Week 8 of the college football season. This time of year, one could divide the 16 SEC teams into various camps. SEC Shorts decided to divide the teams into “support groups” and have a “professional therapistt” talk to these teams.

The first support group we meet is teams that want to fire their head coach. Auburn, Florida and Kentucky are all seen counting money to pay buyouts and venting about 2025 struggles. Florida exited this group on Sunday afternoon, so in SEC Shorts we hear an off-camera cheer acknowledged as Billy Napier’s dismissal.

Tennessee and Texas, are shown next, repeating with the therapist that “preseason rankings aren’t preseason promises.” LSU is late to join the group, revealed to have been out trying to interest Penn State in coach Brian Kelly.

Oklahoma and Mizzou are addressed as teams with results that look good on paper, but no one is actually impressed with them. The Sooners and Tigers humorously tout Week 8 wins over South Carolina and Auburn.

In another segment with the teams wanting to fire their head coach, UAB visits. The Blazers fired Trent Dilfer after Week 7, and interim head coach Alex Mortensen guided UAB to a win over then-No. 22 Memphis.

The therapist jokes that after all the chaos, upsets and parity of the season, who could have seen Alabama and Georgia being frontrunners. An undefeated Texas A&M is also excited to be included with the frontrunners.

Ole Miss, meanwhile, is shown gearing up to defend against all the teams looking for a new head coach. Lane Kiffin was immediately named as one of the top candidates for Florida.

Mississippi State is seen solo, venting that the Arizona State win led it to believe it was “back,” but that’s clearly not the case. MSU then learns UF has fired its coach despite the Week 8 win over the Bulldogs.

UAB visits Tennessee, Texas and LSU to tell them about beating a top-25 team. And familiar SEC Shorts character “Hope” visits the frontrunners.

So where’s Vanderbilt? Turns out Diego Pavia’s team needs a Bat signal to be summoned. Check out the clip below:
