ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Willow Domestic Violence Center is set to break ground on a new 16,000-square-foot facility on Monday afternoon.
The space on Skyview Center Parkway off Ridge Road in Irondequoit will house the new Family Justice Center. The center gives survivors access to civil and criminal legal services, including help with petition filing and forensic exams, and evidence collection.
At a news conference last year, lawmakers and advocates said the center will make it easier to provide help for survivors and families of domestic violence.
“Together with Willow, we can work harder at serving the whole family under one roof. Partnering with the Family Justice Center is a critical step in bridging the connections and services that will leave children and families to fall through the cracks that do exist in our support system,” said Dr. Daniele Lyman-Torres with the Child Advocacy Center of Greater Rochester.
