In 2008, Adele's debut studio album 19 catapulted the singer into superstardom — but now, she can't even remember who the record is about.
In a resurfaced clip from a 2024 performance, the singer-songwriter confessed that she doesn't know the name of the man who inspired some of her most popular songs.
"My first album was mainly about one person also, not the same person that 21 was about," Adele told the audience at one of her concerts. "But I realized last week, I don't even remember his f--king name."
The audience immediately burst into applause. When the cheers died down, Adele continued, "There I was, 'Oh...I have never been so heartbroken in my life...' And then I did it again on 21."
Adele also called her sophomore album the most "dramatic f--king thing" she's done in her entire life but that she "meant every word of it."

After the resurfaced clip made rounds online, fans found Adele's confession hilarious but relatable.
"Being dramatic over men in your late teens, that you don’t even remember now, is very relatable," wrote one user on Reddit. "I really love this. I'm trying to teach my kids to be like this and not devastated over every boy who comes and goes." commented another.
Others praised the singer for her delivery and comedic timing.
"Adele can sing but Adele can also banter like no other. Her joke delivery is so on point," said a third. "I've said it before and I'll say it again: if she wasn't a singer she could've been a comedian. She's so funny. My first pick for a celebrity BFF." added a fourth.
